Dr. Alfred F. Attah obtained his first degree in Biochemistry from the University of Ilorin, MSc in Pharmacognosy from the Ahmadu Bello University, and a Ph.D. in Pharmacognosy from the University of Ibadan, Nigeira. He received the OeAD scholarship from the Austrian government, trained on Biopharmaceutical Product Development and manufacturing facilitated by the University of Waterloo, Canada. The São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP), Brazil selected him as an outstanding Scientist for training at the Advanced School in Natural Products, São Paulo, Brazil and was awarded the prestigious Grand Challenges Canada’s Stars in Global Health round 5. He’s been a postdoctoral alumnus of the Medical University of Vienna, Austria, since 2018 and a visiting scientist at the University of Warwick, United Kingdom. He has over 40 publications to his name and is now most passionate about sustainable translational research from the field to the bedside.

Teaching area: Phytochemistry, chemosystematics, Traditional Medicine and Crude standardization. Research area: Cysteine-rich peptide (knottins) discovery from Traditional plants; Plant bioinformatics, Drug Discovery and ethnopharmacology
