Dr. Kayode Muritala Salawu is a pharmacist and senior lecturer in the Department of Pharmacognosy and Drug Development at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. With a strong background in natural product research, his academic and research interests focus on ethnopharmacology, phytomedicine, antimicrobial resistance, and anticancer drug discovery from medicinal plants.

Dr. Salawu has authored several peer-reviewed publications and actively participates in science communication, public health advocacy, and academic leadership. He has presented at national and international platforms, including serving as a discussant at the NAPA World Cancer Day Symposium. His recent participation in the NICRAT 2025 Science Communication Workshop further underscores his commitment to bridging the gap between science and public policy.

He is passionate about integrating traditional medicine into mainstream healthcare through evidence-based approaches and is actively involved in mentoring, curriculum development, and professional training. As Acting Head of Department, he supports outreach programs and policy-focused engagements, aiming to promote health literacy and influence science-informed decision-making.
