Usman Sukurat Olasumbo, is a lecturer I in the Department of Pharmacognosy and Drug Development, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Ilorin, Nigeria. She served as the departmental exam officer and assistant for a period of 4 years. She obtained her BPharm. and MSc. Pharmacognosy degree from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. She is currently a Ph.D. Student at the same University. She had her mandatory internship at Federal Medical Centre Ebute-Metta, Lagos, and National Youth Service Corp at Emure General Hospital, Emure-Ekiti, Ekiti State. Her research areas include; Phytochemistry, Microscopy, Ethnopharmacognosy, Ethnopharmacology, and Natural product research. She was a Fulbright Scholar hosted at the University of Illinois at Chicago for a period of nine months (September 2022-May 2023). Also, she was a COMSTECH postgraduate research fellow at the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences, University of Karachi, Pakistan for a period of six month (November 2021-April 2022).
